Classification And Inspection Method Of Marine Magnetic Compass

1： Classification of marine magnetic compass:

1. According to usage and installation position:

Standard Compass: open top deck, less magnetic influence and good field of vision.

With the aid of refraction system or projection device, the dial and baseline are adjusted

It is reflected into the bridge for steering.

Steering Compass: directly in front of the steering wheel for steering.

Emergency Compass: supply emergency rudder in front of stern emergency rudder.

Boat Compass: lifeboat, small; oil lamp, oil storage 10 hours.

2. According to the compass diameter classification: 190 mm, 165 mm and 130 mm.

3. Classification by liquid or not: liquid compass and dry compass

2： Inspection of the sensitivity of Marine Magnetic Compass: check by measuring the stagnation angle. The inspection methods are as follows:

1. Conditions: the ship is fixed at the wharf and the ship shore, and the machinery does not work and the deviation is small;

2. Record the heading value accurately;

3. Use a small magnet or iron tool to guide the compass to the left (right) for 20-30 and then move it away quickly;

4. After the compass is balanced, the difference between the heading reading and the original heading value should be less than 0.20;

5. Do the same inspection to the right (left).
